The Crossing

Cowboys and their dog ford the North Platte River on the Park Range Ranch, up in Colorado's North Park valley where the Rockies flatten into ranch country near the Wyoming line. The river's cold, the dog doesn't care, and this is still how the herd gets moved. Photographed by Carol M.
