Pie Town, New Mexico, 1940 — a cowboy's boots at rest, spurs buckled on, heels worn the way a working man's heels wear. Russell Lee photographed the homesteaders of Pie Town for the Farm Security Administration, and his eye for the details — the tooled leather, the rolled denim cuff, the six-point rowel — turned ordinary gear into American iconography. This is one of those frames.
Giclée print on archival matte fine art paper. Framed in a handmade wooden box frame with a conservation-grade snow white mount, ready to hang.
